This edition of the Nissan 350Z Coupe debuted in New York International Auto Show on April the 4 in 2007. This version featured the same engine as the regular 350Z (VQ35HR), but produces 306 HP (Redline at 7500 rpm of full 9000rpm) for both 5-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission. More important, the new VQ has a flatter, broader torque curve, with 90 percent of peak torque available from 2,000 to 7,000 rpm. Redline is up to 7,500 rpm compared to last year's 7,000 rpm (or 6,600 rpm for the V6 matched with the 350Z's automatic transmission). The car featured NISMO 350z aerodynamics package based on the 350z Gt championship car, which included an aggressive front fascia with chin spoiler, side skirts, an extended rear fascia with under body diffuser and a rear wing. The car also had NISMO 350z tuned independent multi link suspension, brembo brakes with four piston front and two-piston rear calipers (with 12.8-inch front and 12.7-inch rear rotors) and NISMO 350Z branded gunmetal grey alloy wheels (18x9-inch front and 19x10-inch rear with 245/40WR18 front, 265/35WR19 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires), and NISMO 350z branded tuned exhaust. All Nismo versions are "Ready For Track" with the safety equipment in it. The NISMO 350Z features an aggressive front fascia highlighted by the vehicle's chin spoiler. An extended rear fascia with underbody diffuser and a rear wing provides enhanced cornering and handling performance, as well as completing the overall sporty appearance of the 2007 NISMO 350Z. Other exterior features include additional NISMO body welds and front and rear reinforcements, special body dampers mounted in the front radiator core support and rear cargo area, High Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon headlights and LED brake lights, distinctive taillights, heated outside mirrors, aluminum hood, distinctive vertical door handles, and NISMO 350z branded tuned dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips. That goes a long way toward explaining the appearance of the 2007 Nissan Nismo 350Z. With a NISMO front splitter so big it gives the car an underbite, exhaust outlets large enough to swallow a kitten and a rear wing only an Evo could love, this Z's racing derived bodywork undoubtedly earns admiration in Tokyo.
